KidSport 

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport. KidSport Calgary & Area provides grants of up to $500 per eligible child, per year (January 1st - December 31st) towards sports registration fees.

KidSport grants are intended to be used for sports registration fees; travel and competitions are not eligible for funding.

Eligibility Requirements
KidSport Calgary & Area uses the following eligibility requirements to determine financial eligibility for grants provided through the Provincial Fund.

Kids aged 18 and under are eligible to apply for a grant.

Before you start your application.

• Please note that the children must be registered with Calgary East Little League before you can apply with KidSport.

Families must provide one of the following documents for ALL ADULTS in the household

• Notice of Assessment (most recent tax year)
• Canada Child Benefit Notice
• AISH
• Income Support (Alberta Works, EI)
• Proof of City of Calgary Fair Entry or Airdrie Fee Assistance
• Current Subsidized Housing Letter

Before you start your application, please have the following ready:

• Your contact information (name, postal code, telephone number, and email address)
• The first name, last name, gender, and date of birth of your child
• The details of the sport or physical activity in which your child would like to participate including program dates, the name of the program and proof of programming
• The amount that you are requesting from Jumpstart
• The name of the non-profit/charity/service organization (payee) running the sport or physical activity program
• Proof of financial need: a clear, legible, and current copy of pages 1 and 2 of your Canada Child Benefit (Statement) will be required as proof of need
